I took it out and after formating it ... surprise: it is INCREDIBLY FAST. I put on it all the shared data between Linux and Windows and just inflated my free space on the HDD. It is suited for fast transfers so no worries if you want to install Linux on it. The USB connection is pretty useful, too - I can transfer now files to a computer that does not have ExpressPort too.
